The Mediterranean city has been chosen as one of the European train stops because of its implication and outstanding sustainable development engagements. A train wagon is entirely dedicated to Marseille’s green actions : dry gardens, shared gardens, green sustainable construction Charter, coral Prado, etc. The train which arrives in Marseille Saturday July 2d, till the 4th, carries 7 wagons. Beyond the first one showcasing the initiatives of the German 2011 Green Capital of Europe, these wagons present the idea of an ideal city in the future, in 2050, its development, the necessity of green spaces, and the need for mobilisation against climate change. Each wagon focuses on a different theme such as water or forests. This exhibition, “Visions on Tomorrow’s cities”, presents 50 sustainable urban development projects and 50 ideas from the 18 cities the train is travelling to.
