Water currents: Water runs down from the mountains, eager to tell you its story.
A journey to the heart of EDF’s Saint Chamas hydroelectric power plant.

EDF invites you to Saint Chamas for a unique visit to its hydroelectric power plant. Exploring an artistic, poetic and transient world, you will see the story of water sharing in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region unfold before your eyes. Make your way around the plant and find out all about the responsible and coordinated management of a resource that is of vital importance to Provence.

EDF’s 50 hydroelectric facilities on the Durance and Verdon rivers generate 35% of the electricity produced in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region each year. The leading producer of renewable energy, thanks to hydroelectricity, EDF is also a major stakeholder in the area, a fact reflected by the regional model for the shared management of water resources, which you can find out more about during the course of your visit.
