15 new projects labellised “6th World Water Forum” by the Grassroots and citizenship Commission

Martine Vassal, President of the Roots & citizenship Commission

The local process commission, who met early July, has voted to give its official support to 15 different projects and organisations. Among them are: the “Hydrolatres” Carnival of Marseille, the “Women for Water Partnership”; the educational campaign on hygiene and water from Wash United and the Olympique de Marseille soccer team; the forum and concert series for Africa « A l’Eau l’Afrique, à l’Eau le Monde »; the IBEROAQUA conference in Mexico; the IPEMED Mediterranean basin and water & pollution agency projects, etc.

Created to ensure the rooting of the 6th World Water Forum in local realities and to develop citizens’ contributions for water, this local commission – driven by its president Martine Vassal, and by Vice-President, Hachmi Kennou – has certified these projects according to the Forum’s labeling charter for they are in line with the 2012 forum theme, Time for Solutions, and its priorities and reflect its mission of awareness and education.
