As part of the Eco-Cities Forum, the urban community Marseille Provence Métropole organises a visit to the facilities for the production of drinking water and for wastewater treatment delivering service to over one million people.  The visit to the Marseille Provence Métropole water treatment plants, which meet the needs of 18 municipalities of varying size including Marseille, will allow participants to observe the expertise and skills involved in the production of high quality water and its distribution to the population until it is discharged into the sea after treatment.

A visit to the site for selective waste sorting, a priority for the ecosystem of a Mediterranean metropolis, is also programmed.
