Call for local councillors to take part in the 6^th World Water Forum

In order to discuss and organise the 3^rd International Conference of Local and Regional Authorities for Water, which will be held during the Forum week in Marseille on 14 and 15 March 2012, representatives of local and regional authorities will gather for a preparatory meeting in Barcelona, February 15, 2012.

To this end, and to facilitate wider ownership of the Istanbul Water Consensus and increase its political significance, the UCLG and the World Water Council invite all representatives to send their proposals for amendments to the Consensus itself and to share the strong political messages for Local and Regional Authorities they wish to convey at the 6^th World Water Forum. 

Proposals must be sent no later than 10 February, 2012.

To date, more than 800 cities and regions have joined the Istanbul Water Consensus.
