Responsibility is the key word

The French Minister of Agriculture, Bruno Lemaire, laid out upcoming government measures for the sector. These measures include a maximum volume of water allocation to each farm and a simplified procedure of dams that is no longer subject to suspensive appeal.

The Minister indicated the need for further discussions with farmers on irrigation issues and relevant cropping patterns, especially during drought. He also highlighted France’s efforts in fighting nitrate water pollution.
