Preparatory meeting of the Local and Regional Authorities

This preparatory meeting, which will be held February 15, 2012, will bring together a  selection of representatives of local and regional authorities. They will discuss and organise the 3rd International Conference of Local and Regional Authorities for Water, which will be held during the Forum week in Marseille on 14 and 15 March 2012.

The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the agenda, the format, the interactions with other levels of governance and the possible outcomes of local and regional governments for the 6th Forum. This is an opportunity to clarify the expected political messages, the local solutions to be promoted, and the commitments, in particular in the context of the Istanbul Water Consensus, which will be presented officially by the local and regional representatives at the end of the Forum week.
