More transparency in the drilling techniques through hydraulic fracturing

The Food and Water Watch NGO recommends banning the drilling through hydraulic fracturing. In addition to the enormous quantity of water needed for digging, the soil gets cracked because of the brutality of this technique used for extracting natural gas. This technique is applied all over the world. In case of improper sealing, several thousands of liters of highly toxic extraction water can reach and contaminate groundwater. Corinne Lepage, French member of the European Parliament, pointed out the slow development of a good jurisdiction and lack of transparency when chemicals are used for such extraction.
